Zahi Jurdi

AASU Student Selected for Johns Hopkins Residency

(April 9, 2010) Zahi Jurdi, a student in the Master of Health Services Administration (MHSA) program at Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU), has accepted a post-graduate administrative residency with the Johns Hopkins Health System of Baltimore, Maryland to begin July 2010.

As part of his residency responsibilities, Jurdi will report to the vice president for Outpatient Administration and will be responsible for the completion of special administrative projects. Under the mentorship of an education and research associate, Jurdi will have an opportunity to gain significant exposure to many departments of the organization.

Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Jurdi earned his bachelor's in biology from The Ohio State University in 2007 and will complete the Master of Health Services Administration program at AASU in May 2010.

“Zahi came into the program two years ago with minimal experience in health care and promised me that he would spend every possible moment in the program getting experience if we were willing to give him a chance to prove himself,” said Joey Crosby, MHSA program coordinator. “He has since distinguished himself and the MHSA program including this prestigious appointment at one of the most highly regarded health care institutions in the world. This appointment is a testament to his hard work and perseverance to be successful. He has a very bright future ahead of him.”
