Armstrong Participates in the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Observance Day Parade
(Jan. 22, 2014) On Monday, Jan. 20, Armstrong's Office of Multicultural Affairs led more than 100 students, faculty and staff from the university's Savannah and Armstrong Liberty Center campuses through downtown Savannah for the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Observance Day Parade. After the parade, participants came back to campus for reflection and lunch, where they honored the lives of both Martin Luther King, Jr. and Nelson Mandela.
“This was a fabulous celebration, and we couldn't have done it without the commitment of our students, faculty and staff,” said Nashia Whittenburg, director of the Office of Multicultural Affairs. “Words cannot express our gratitude and humbled spirit.”
