Cathy Hill Appointed Chair of the Armstrong Foundation

(Oct. 31, 2012) Armstrong is proud to announce the appointment of Cathy Hill as board chair of the Armstrong Foundation. Hill succeeds John C. Helmken II, president of Savannah Bancorp, who joined the board in 2008 and served as chair from 2010-2012. The Armstrong Foundation acquires and administers charitable donations and funds in support of the university and its programs.

“Armstrong has benefited greatly from strong foundation board leadership over the years to include our outgoing board chair, John Helmken, who has been a strong advocate and voice for the university during his two years of service,” said Armstrong President Linda Bleicken. “Cathy Hill continues this leadership legacy and brings to the table extensive corporate and non-profit board experience. I truly look forward to working with Cathy as we continue to advance Armstrong's mission.”

Hill, a native of Dublin, Ga., is currently the region vice president for Georgia Power, Coastal Region, a position she has held since 2008.
