Navigate Launches for the Class of 2017
(June 1, 2013) ) It's Navigate time once again, and incoming students arrived in strong numbers at the May 31 orientation session. They scattered about eager to learn of the opportunities that lie ahead on campus. Many of the incoming freshman say they were drawn in by the comfort of the homey, tight-knit feeling they get from Armstrong.
Taralyn Gillham, Special Education
“The beach is here and I love the city of Savannah. Also Armstrong is the perfect size for me. Not too big, not too small.”
Christopher Miller, Undecided
“There are smaller classes here, so I know I can get that one-on-one time with my teachers.”
Oluwaseun Ogunmoyero, Pre- Med
“Armstrong is awesome. I like the feel of it, the togetherness. The community makes you feel like you're not too far from home.”
The goal of Navigate is to educate the young, eager students on the different organizations, major programs, and clubs available to them, as well as give them the opportunity to get to know their campus better. When they start classes in the fall, they will already know their way around and will even know many of their classmates. The welcoming and helpful vibe of the staff puts the new students at ease as they literally navigate their way through the possibilities of their future.
Jada Thomas, Nursing
“I heard Armstrong has a good nursing program. My brother had to have heart surgery a while back, and one of his nurses was an Armstrong graduate.”
Emily Hoggard, Rehabilitation Therapy
“Armstrong is one of the few schools that have my major, and it seemed to be the most efficient in that field.”
Kailey Goyrs, Rehabilitation Therapy
“I got a soccer scholarship here, and I was happy. They had everything I was looking for in my major.”
Additional Navigate sessions for freshman will be held on June 7, June 21, July 19, and August 2. For more information, visit http://www.armstrong.edu/navigate .
