University to Host Treasure Savannah on Saturday, March 7

(March 3, 2015) — Registration for Treasure Savannah Spring 2015 is underway! This semester's event will take place on Saturday, March 7 and will gather Armstrong students, faculty, staff and members of the community to volunteer in service opportunities throughout the city.

Treasure Savannah is Armstrong's bi-annual day of service that celebrates the university's long and rich history in Savannah through multiple service projects throughout the community. The event began in 2010 as part of Armstrong's 75th Anniversary Celebration and Armstrong President Dr. Linda Bleicken's Inauguration. The event was such a success, that it has continued as a bi-annual tradition.

This semester's event kicks off at 8:20 a.m. on the steps on the Student Union for the traditional group photograph. Volunteers will then depart by bus to one of the following service projects:

    Hoofs 4 Healings
    Union Missions Grace House
    Scot Stell Park
    West Broad Street YMCS
    Keep Savannah Beautiful
    Habitat for Humanity
    Hinesville Rivers Alive
    Azalea Land Nursing Home
    American's Second Harvest Food Bank
    Armstrong Campus

To register, visit the Treasure Savannah website, and select the "register day of service" button. Registration is free and all volunteers will receive a free Treasure Savannah t-shirt.
