Armstrong Joins St. Patrick's Day Celebration
With the luck of the Irish, green-clad members of the Armstrong clan boarded a pirate ship and sailed down the streets of downtown Savannah on Monday, March 17 to participate in the 190th St. Patrick's Day Parade.
“I'm excited to wear green with my fellow Pirates,” said Armstrong junior Cathrine Backley. “I'm going to scream and relieve the stress from school!”
Despite the dismal weather, Cathrine and her fellow students, alumni, faculty and staff weren't going to let even rainfall rain on their parade. More than 300,000 spectators watched in awe as Armstrong joined 350 floats in one of the largest St. Patrick's Day Parades in the United States.
