Congratulations to our Armstrong Graduates, Class of 2011!
More than 700 degree candidates took part in the 2011 spring commencement ceremony on May 7 in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Arena in the Savannah Civic Center. The Honorable Jack Kingston, U.S. Representative for the First District of Georgia (biography), delivered the keynote address. Degree candidates representing the university's College of Education, College of Health Professions, College of Liberal Arts and the College of Science and Technology received their diploma from Armstrong President Linda M. Bleicken and senior members of the university administration. The university awarded approximately 517 undergraduate degrees, 164 graduate degrees and 20 Doctor of Physical Therapy degrees.
The Armstrong Wind Ensemble, conducted by Mark B. Johnson, provided the musical accompaniment. Lucinda D. Schultz, professor of music, led the audience in the singing of the national anthem and the university alma mater.
