More than 700 degree candidates were awarded degrees during Armstrong Atlantic State University's Fall 2010 Commencement.
Family and friends came together at the Alumni Arena in the Sports Complex for the two graduation ceremonies. Undergraduate and master's degrees were awarded by the College of Education, College of Health Professions, College of Liberal Arts and College of Science and Technology.
Alva B. Lines, a member of the Armstrong inaugural Class of 1937, was conferred an Honorary Degree of Letters.
Arthur M. Gignilliat, Jr., Armstrong Class of 1953 and former chair of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, served as commencement speaker for the second ceremony of the day. Gignilliat told the graduates to set goals for themselves, pursue their dreams and always remember their alma mater.
Tamala R. Fulton, Class of 2004, delivered the alumni welcome to the new graduates.
