"Just Want to Celebrate...!"

Armstrong Atlantic State University faculty, staff, students and alumni marked the 16th annual Celebrate Armstrong Day on October 19. The outdoor festivities on campus included more than 70 booths representing academic departments and student organizations. Food samples, live performances, games, a talent show and a hot dog eating competition were part of this annual Armstrong tradition. Lyn Avenue, a student pop alternative band, provided live entertainment. Other performers included the Armstrong Gospel Choir, and Armstrong professor's James Todesca Band performing American folk.

“It is a day to celebrate Armstrong and an opportunity for our students, faculty and staff to come out and enjoy all that Armstrong has to offer,” said Armstrong President Linda Bleicken.

Student organizations held fundraisers for various causes, including Kappa Sigma Fraternity, which organized a “Shave to Save” to benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
