Mrs. Andrea Bowers Williams is currently the principal of Spencer Elementary School. Under her leadership, Spencer Elementary School moved from a Needs Improvement (NI) School to Title One Distinguished School in three years. She received commendations on January 5, 2015 for having the highest College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) increase in the district.
Mrs. Williams is a product of the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System, and received her Master’s and Educational Specialist degrees from Armstrong State University (ASU). While attending Armstrong, she received the MAP Academic Achievement and Robert W. Gadsden Academic Achievement Awards Mrs. Williams participated in the first SCCPSS Leadership Consortium and received her leadership degree.
Mrs. Williams was a presenter at the Georgia School Board Members Conference – SCCPSS Restructured Schools with former School Board Member Julie Gerbsch and Superintendent
Dr. Thomas B. Lockamy, Jr. She also presented on Restructured Schools for Leadership Savannah. She is a graduate member of Leadership Savannah, class of 2000.
Mrs. Williams received a Resolution from the State of Georgia House of Representatives for school achievements; an Acknowledgement from EBB and FLOW Life and Community in Eastern Savannah; and several awards from Alpha Kappa Alpha, including Soror of the Year and Sisterhood Awards; and Outstanding Christian Education Award.
Mrs. Williams is the daughter of the late Mr. Clifton Bowers and Mrs. Janie Baker Bowers. She has been happily married for 30 years to Mr. Dean Williams (educator and coach). They have one daughter, Mrs. Janine W. Parchment (who is happily married to a proud retired marine, Sergeant Dobby Dobson Parchment), and a grandson, Dobson Dean Patrick Parchment.
